Christmas Day Miracle in the Sky
This past Christmas day our own Dr. Passeri witnessed a very dramatic event.
While on a flight to Palm Beach, Florida, a man suffering from a severe allergic reaction lost consciousness, and stopped breathing. Timing was crucial!
The closest airport was in Norfolk, Virginia, which would have required rerouting the plane. The flight crew asked if there was a doctor on board.
Dr. Robert Silich, a surgeon at SIUH, also happened to be on board travelling with his family. He proceeded to aid the victim, bringing him to a complete recovery, virtually saving his life.
The flight went on as scheduled, and a grateful passenger met his family in Palm Beach. A tragedy was averted, and the happiness of the season prevailed!! |
